The 2019 fishing season at Manor Fisheries ended on Sunday 29th September and we reopen on Saturday 21st March 2020.

Leader Board and Summary
Many congratulations to:
Tracy Day who landed her PB 46lbs Cat on the 21st September to top the Catfish Leader Board.

Lake 1 (Carp)
Carp have been caught up to 21lbs this month with overall numbers being generally similar to last year though some small Carp have begun showing and these will be relocated during our “Closed” period:
Richard and Veronica Crouch visited on the 1st September and finished with 10 x Commons weighing from 6lbs 8ozs to 12lbs plus a 11lbs 8ozs Mirror. Again on the 12th September Veronica landed a Common weighing 14lbs while Richard caught Commons weighing 14lbs 8ozs and 2 x 12lbs 8ozs.
Arriving for a short break on the 31st August Robert Hanson and Jackie Colton first successfully targeted the Lake 2 Cats and then successfully Lake 1 Carp:
During their 4th September visit, David Hodge and son Jason divided their time on Lake 1 (Carp) – catching a 8lbs 8ozs Mirror and 8lbs Common and Lake 3 (Mixed) – catching Commons weighing 6lbs 8ozs and 5lbs plus a 5lbs 8ozs Mirror.
Paul Kitt found the Carp feeding when he began his 60 hour session on 6th September. He finished with 32 x Carp (25 x doubles) including 13 x Mirrors to 17lbs 4ozs and 19 x Commons to 18lbs and was joined by colleague Bob Irvine for his 48 hour session who caught 4 x Carp (all doubles) to 14lbs.
Christine and Colin Holder returned on the 7th September for a break and using halibut pellet, krill and pacific tuna boilie baits targeted the Carp with great success:
Visiting on the 9th September Neil Murphy landed 6 x Carp from 11lbs to 21lbs including 2 x Commons and 4 x Mirrors while colleague Mark Huettinger landed Commons weighing 13lbs and 11lbs plus a 13lbs Mirror.
Regular Peter Austen returned on the 10th September and using pineapple boilies was successful in landing Commons weighing 14lbs 10ozs and 10lbs 8ozs. And again on the 18th September, when using banoffee boilies, Peter landed two small Carp weighing 5lbs and 1lb only.
David Hare visited on the 12th September for a 24 hour session and landed 7 x Commons plus a Mirror weighing from 10lbs 8ozs to 18lbs (average 13lbs 8ozs) using pacific tuna boilies before trying his hand on Lake 2 (Carp/Catfish) when he landed Cats weighing 22lbs 8ozs and 19lbs 12ozs.
Arriving on the 14th September for a 36 hour session proved to be successful for Rob Prout when he landed 14 x Carp including Commons weighing 17lbs 1oz, 16lbs 3ozs, 14lbs 9ozs, 13lbs 2ozs, 2 x 11lbs 9ozs, 11lbs 8ozs, 1olbs 4ozs, 9lbs and 7lbs plus Mirrors weighing 14lbs 7ozs, 12lbs 7ozs, 8lbs 4ozs and 7lbs.
Roy Prout arrived for a short break on the 14th September and targeting the Carp landed 9 x Commons including weights of 14lbs 3ozs, 13lbs 2ozs, 12lbs 7ozs, 12lbs 5ozs, 11lbs 6ozs, 10lbs 10ozs, 10lbs 1oz, 8lbs 10ozs and 7lbs 3ozs plus 9 x Mirrors weighing 16lbs 9ozs, 13lbs 2ozs, 11lbs, 10lbs 14ozs, 10lbs 8ozs, 10lbs 4ozs, 9lbs 15ozs, 8lbs 2ozs and a tiny 1lb 8ozs.
Regular Jason Tuckey began his 24 hour session on the 16th September and using pineapple pop-ups landed 6 x Carp including Commons weighing 16lbs 1oz, 15lbs 8ozs, 14lbs 10ozs, 14lbs 8ozs and 12lbs plus a 10lbs Mirror.
On the 17th September regular Terry Keard returned for a 48 hour session and using Robin Red, Krill and halibut pellet baits landed 4 x Commons weighing 16lbs 12ozs, 13lbs 11ozs, 13lbs 8ozs and 11lbs 15ozs plus 2 x Mirrors weighing 11lbs 2ozs and 11lbs 1oz.
Paul and Sam Jenkins returned on the 21st September and using luncheon meat bait their catch included 13 x Carp:
Paul – 6 x Commons weighing up to 15lbs and a 7lbs Mirror
Sam – 5 x Commons including weights of 15lbs 8ozs, 14lbs, 13lbs and 11lbs plus a 12lbs Mirror
Regular David Hodge returned on a wet 25th September and landed a Mirror weighing 21lbs 3ozs plus a 11lbs Common.
On a memorable 29th September Michael Rogers landed a 15lbs 6ozs Carp using a nutcracker pop-up while his wife Joanne used pineapple pop-ups to land Carp weighing 14lbs 2ozs and 12lbs 2ozs.
Ray and Janice Gartell returned on the 27th September for a short break together with friends Joe and Lorraine McGuggon who both had not previously fished. Ray took on the role of Instructor and Guide to help set-up tackle and provide advice which proved to be invaluable and set 4 x PB’s:

After successfully assisting his friends Ray was rewarded with a 42lbs 9ozs PB Cat following his last cast of the day and our Season.
Lake 2 (Carp/Catfish)
Cats caught this month included 68 x 30’s and a record September 6 x 40’s including a 46lbs PB specimen caught by Tracy Day on the 21st September to top the Catfish Leader Board. In addition some small Carp have begun showing and these will be relocated during our “Closed” period.
Arriving for a short break on the 31st August Robert Hanson and Jackie Colton targeted the Cats and using halibut pellet bait Jackie was successful in landing 11 x Cats:
Starting his 36 hour session on the 31st August, Connor Cambridge had a great start catching Cats weighing 39lbs and 31lbs where halibut pellet was the successful bait. Alan Cambridge joined Connor on the 1st September and landed Cats weighing 34lbs 8ozs and 25lbs.
David Platt and Robert Bates arrived on the 1st September for a 48 hour session and were successful in landing 7 x 30’s:
Regular Eric Scott returned on the 3rd September and landed Cats weighing 23lbs, 21lbs and 16lbs.
Brothers Bernie and Gary Day targeted the Cats on the 4th September using halibut pellet bait when Bernie ended with Cats weighing 31lbs 8ozs, 31lbs 4ozs, 2 x 28lbs, 27lbs 4ozs and 17lbs while Gary landed Cats weighing 30lbs, 24lbs and 15lbs.
Regular Steve Hyder visited on 5th September and landed 3 x 30’s Cats weighing 36lbs 10ozs, 31lbs 4ozs and 30lbs 2ozs plus a 9lbs Carp.
Regular Daniel Selby plus Corrina returned on the 6th September for a 60 hour session that resulted in Corrina landing 3 x Cats weighing 30lbs PB, 25lbs and 21lbs while Daniel finished with 5 x Cats weighing 2 x 28lbs, 27lbs, 22lbs and 18lbs.
Using chopped pork and ham bait on the 9th September, Terry Hare landed 2 x Cats that resulted in 2 x PB’s with weights of 34lbs 8ozs PB followed by 35lbs 8ozs – his new PB and a bonus 4lbs 8ozs Carp.
Regular Jason Tuckey returned on the 9th September for a 24 hour session and using halibut pellet bait was successful in catching 4 x Cats weighing 38lbs 8ozs, 37lbs 10ozs, 33lbs and 24lbs 4ozs.
It was 30’s for both Phillip Aldridge and Mike Ireland when they visited on the 11th September with Mike landing a Cat weighing 35lbs 5ozs and Phillip landing 2 x Cats weighing 17lbs and after a period of wading a second at 36lbs.
Bryan Butler returned on the 14th September and using halibut pellet bait caught Cats weighing 30lbs and 21lbs.
Visiting on the 14th September Gary Phillips landed a 21lbs Cat plus a small 2lbs Carp.
Regular Paul Coombes arrived on the 16th September for a 24 hours session and landed a Cat weighing 32lbs and again arriving on the 19th September for a further 24 hours, landed a Cat weighing 38lbs 8ozs.
Regulars Robin Moyser and Nigel Gillard returned on the 16th September for a 108 hour session and finished with 45 x Cats including 2 x 40’s and 17 x 30’s:
Robin – 40lbs 12ozs, 8 x 30lbs+, 13 x 20lbs+ and 4 kittens
Nigel – 40lbs, 9x 30lbs+ and 9 x 20lbs+
It was a special day on the 21st September when Tracy and Bernie Day both targeted the Cats. Tracy’s catch began with two small Carp weighing 3lbs and 1lb but then showing the men the way landed a 46lbs PB Cat to top the Catfish Leader Board – many congratulations. Bernie also enjoyed success landing 3 x Cats weighing 39lbs 4ozs, 34lbs 8ozs and 24lbs 6ozs.
Arriving on the 20th September for a 48 hour session Martin Crease and Tony Thompson landed 12 x Cats to 39lbs including:
Martin – 39lbs, 38lbs, 37lbs, 35lbs, 33lbs, 29lbs, 26lbs, 20lbs 15lbs and 11lbs
Tony – 36lbs and 24lbs
Amidst wet and windy weather on the 24th September, James and Reg Purton were successful with the Cats using Robin Red bait:
Reg – 42lbs and 31lbs 4ozs
James – 23lbs
It was the return of regular Eric Scott on the 24th September when he successfully landed a Cat weighing 41lbs 6ozs.
Five days after Tracy Day (Bernie’s wife) caught her 46lbs Cat, brothers Bernie and Gary Day visited on the 26th September to try their luck with the Cats:

It was 3 x Mirrors for Martin Stokes on 5th September which were all doubles to 12lbs. Again on the 11th September Martin landed 11 x Carp including a double plus 3 x Tench between 1lb and 2lbs.
Scott Jenkins visited on 6th September and landed 3 x Mirrors to 8lbs 80zs, a Common Carp plus a Bream.
Autumn had fully arrived on 8th September when Roger Simmons caught Commons weighing 5lbs and 3lbs plus a 1lb 8ozs.
Regular Paul Teakle visited on the 12th September and landed Commons weighing 7lbs 8ozs and 6lbs 12ozs plus a 11lbs 7ozs Mirror.
Roger Simmons returned on the 12th September accompanied by Ian Usher when they caught Carp weighing 8lbs and 6lbs.
Using luncheon meat bait on the 19th September resulted in Peter Foster catching 14 x Carp weighing from 6lbs to 11lbs plus a 2lbs Tench. Colleague Mike Dougherty also landed Carp to 4lbs 8ozs including 5 x Commons and 3 x Mirrors.
First time visitors on the 22nd September, Mike Whelan and colleagues Cliff and Gerry landed collectively 21 x Carp weighing from 5lbs to 10lbs plus a 2lbs Tench.
Regular Fred Rosier returned on the 24th September and his excellent mixed catch included:
3 x Tench weighing 2lbs 12ozs, 2lbs 5ozs and 2lbs 4ozs
4 x Bream weighing 3lbs 15ozs, 3lbs 7ozs, 3lbs 4ozs and 3lbs

Neil Cordier returned on the 26th September and using luncheon meat and sweetcorn baits caught 4 x Carp plus a Bream.
Using CC Moore pacific tuna boilies on the 28th September, Terry Hare landed 9 x Carp weighing 13lbs, 2 x 8lbs, 7lbs, 3 x 6lbs and 2 x 5lbs.
Roger and Tyler Simmons ended our season on the 29th September with both making successful catches:

Each year we award every angler with a PIN to commemorate catching their first Manor Fisheries specimen fish for each species shown below. We look forward to publishing the results next month. The 2019 PIN qualifying weights are:
